Applicant's Story

Regarding your work experience, what's most appealing to you?

'The purpose of my work'

When do you know you've done a good job?

'I feel it'

Why are you a caregiver... or want to become one?

'I worked for as a Caregiver in Las Vegas before I moved to Oregon and it was really full filling work; I was helping my clients being the best version of them they could be and that just really made me happy. I felt accomplished that I was able to benefit someone else by just offering a helping hand.'

Tell me of a time when you were there for someone who really needed you.

'I went to an Academy for high school so naturally the pressure was on to have flawless grades, well around midterms I was staying late after school to get some extra credit done and when I went to use the bathroom I stumbled on a girl hunched under the sinks crying. I managed to squeeze myself next to her and after some coaxing she told me of how she had just used her first paycheck to buy pills to help her study and how she didn't think she would make it through exams. We had a long crying session under the sink together spilling our fears to each other, total strangers, and after wards she flushed the pills down the toilet and we went and go boba tea together. We still talk even now and she's in a much better place now.'

Think of the person who was most meaningful to you growing up. What made them special to you?

'The is probably an overused answer but my mom still is the most meaningful person to me. She raised me and my brother by herself and managed to make it look easy. My mom is my hero. '

Please share one or two memories that you had with that person.

'When I walked across the stage to accept my high school diploma even though the guests where told to keep it to polite clapping my mom screamed that she was proud of me so loud the stadium nearly went silent. I imminently burst into tears right then and there. My mom had me young you see and never got to walk to get her diploma and I felt like I had finally made her proud even though logically I knew I mad her proud countless times beforehand this one felt like the one. '

How can I help create a supportive and positive work experience for you?

'Work with me and I will work with you.'
