Applicant's Story

Regarding your work experience, what's most appealing to you?

'The changes I can accomplish'

When do you know you've done a good job?

'I feel it'

Why are you a caregiver... or want to become one?

'I would love to make a positive impact on the lives of those around me while also learning about a person. I love hearing stories from people’s pasts. '

Tell me of a time when you were there for someone who really needed you.

'When my moms friend had heart surgery I would drive up there and check on him when she couldn’t. I would bring groceries, clean, cook and keep him company during his recovery. '

Think of the person who was most meaningful to you growing up. What made them special to you?

'My mom. She pushed herself so hard despite a broken back and chronic pain. She never complained and always worked hard to provide for her family and friends. '

Please share one or two memories that you had with that person.

'one memory is that she worked full time and still managed to get her nursing degree and raise 5 kids without ever complaining.

Another memory would be when she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and she still pushed hard and never let it get her down.

I’ve learned from my mom that hard work and compassion for others will take you a long way in life. '

How can I help create a supportive and positive work experience for you?

'I really appreciate open and honest communication. I will always try to better myself and my work. Being appreciated for the work I do makes work the best. '
