Applicant's Story

Regarding your work experience, what's most appealing to you?

'The people I work with'

When do you know you've done a good job?

'I feel it'

Why are you a caregiver... or want to become one?

'I want to be a caregiver so that i can help those in need. I want to make a difference in someone else's life. I want the opportunity to show my kind and helpful spirit to those who may need it the most. '

Tell me of a time when you were there for someone who really needed you.

'I was there for my friend when she was having her baby. I made soup for her when she was sick and gathered her things when she had to suddenly go to the hospital. Though these may seem like little things, they made me have a feeling of helpfulness. Sometimes the little things are what matter most. '

Think of the person who was most meaningful to you growing up. What made them special to you?

'My mom is a person i really looked up to when i was a kid. She works hard to provide food. She is actively involved with the church. She is kind and loving to everyone she meets. '

Please share one or two memories that you had with that person.

'I remember when my mom's grandma was very sick and on her last days. My mom would care for her by making soup and doing whatever she needed. It was one of my greatest memories because she has such a kind and loving presence that was very evident during this time.
Another memory I have of my mom is when her friend got very sick. This friend could not move and could barely speak but my mom and I helped her and her children take care of the yard work and some house cleaning to help her feel better. '

How can I help create a supportive and positive work experience for you?

'To help create a positive work experience for me would to be encouraging and informational. Knowledge is power and a kind word goes a long ways. '
