Applicant's Story

Regarding your work experience, what's most appealing to you?

'The purpose of my work'

When do you know you've done a good job?

'The people I work with tell me'

Why are you a caregiver... or want to become one?

'I love working with people I have the heart and care for people in general. '

Tell me of a time when you were there for someone who really needed you.

'When my mom had surgery, she really needed someone to be there to help her. So I stayed at home with her for over a week making sure she was taking care of. This included helping her eat, meal preparation, bathing, cleaning and making sure she takes her medications on time.'

Think of the person who was most meaningful to you growing up. What made them special to you?

'My mom, she is my hero. She is easy to talk to and gives me so much positivity to want to do better for myself. She continues to push me and always looks out for me. '

Please share one or two memories that you had with that person.

'When we both took a vacation at the time. We just stayed home and watched movies with plenty of snacks. It was fun but also gave us more time to laugh and bond. This was the same feeling when I helped her after her surgery. It was a moment to bond and let her know she count on me. '

How can I help create a supportive and positive work experience for you?

'By communicating with me and just being there. Provide me with the training that's necessary for me to effectively do my job.'
