Applicant's Story

Regarding your work experience, what's most appealing to you?

'The purpose of my work'

When do you know you've done a good job?

'I feel it'

Why are you a caregiver... or want to become one?

'I want to become a caregiver because I have always had a drive to help others. I would consider myself a very patient and compassionate person. '

Tell me of a time when you were there for someone who really needed you.

'When my grandmother was sick, I would sit and talk with her for hours. We would keep busy watching movies and playing cards. Occasionally she would need help with daily tasks such as dishes or cleaning. '

Think of the person who was most meaningful to you growing up. What made them special to you?

'The one person who was most meaningful to me would be my Aunt Shana. What made her special to me is she was always full of love and laughter. She taught me great values that I carry with me every day.'

Please share one or two memories that you had with that person.

'A fond memory I have of us is when I was in 3rd grade, my aunt Shana had picked me up from school and told me she had a surprise for me when we got home. Once we were home she opened the garage door and there was a brand new, pink bike waiting for me. She then spent the evening teaching me how to ride my bike.'

How can I help create a supportive and positive work experience for you?

'You can help create a supportive and positive work experience for me by spreading happiness and encourage positive thinking. Another way you can help is by providing me with the proper training and assets that I need to provide the best care possible.'
