Applicant's Story

Regarding your work experience, what's most appealing to you?

'The way I am able to do things'

When do you know you've done a good job?

'I feel it'

Why are you a caregiver... or want to become one? (What's most important to you about this work?)

'I am/want to be a caregiver, because it's like work without working. My goal in life is to have a big family and to be able to provide everything they need. This makes it easy for me in a workplace where my main job is to provide for others. I love the feeling of purpose in my workplace, and being a caregiver will grant me that feeling.'

Tell me the story of a time when you were there for someone who really needed you?

'I like to be the friend you can always call for help, who will drop everything to be there. One time, when one of my friends got into a car accident, she needed someone to be there to tell her everything was okay and help her not have a panic attack, so I dropped what I was doing and went to go comfort her. I helped her stay calm and level headed, so she was able to focus on the issue at hand an get everything figured out.'

Think of the person who was most meaningful to you growing up. What makes them special to you?

'The most meaningful person to me growing up was my best friend, who lived down the street. We would hangout almost every day after school, and we grew up together. We would talk about things going on at school and all of our goals and hopes for our futures. He was a grade above me, so he would always let me know what to expect going into the next grade at school. I looked up to him my whole life, and I've always valued friendship on a level equal to family, because of him'

Please share one or two memories that you have with that person.

'My fondest memories are definitely from our childhood. We used to play out in the yard and we would get a giant piece of paper and draw out a map of what our adventure would be. Then we would act it out and go on the grandest adventures and try and stop whatever we decided the dark forces were. I always loved how strong our imagination could be, and it's one thing i've vowed to never lose.'

How can I help create a supportive and positive work experience for you?

'A supportive and positive work experience, to me, has a manager that is always aware of what's going on and has an unbiased opinion. A positive work place has coworkers who are fun to be around and don't start drama. A positive work experience to me, is a company that runs smoothly, and a place I can go in happy, and leave happy.'
