Applicant's Story

Regarding your work experience, what's most appealing to you?

'The changes I can accomplish'

When do you know you've done a good job?

'The people I work with tell me'

Why are you a caregiver... or want to become one?

'I’m a caregiver because I enjoy making a impact in people’s everyday life, setting goals and achieving them. '

Tell me of a time when you were there for someone who really needed you.

'I’ve previously worked at a assisted living community and, there were many residents on hospice whom I worked with on a everyday basis alongside their family members. One person in particular needed briefs and supplies but no one was able to pick up nor drop off the supplies needed. So I drove over 1 hour to get the supplies for that resident.'

Think of the person who was most meaningful to you growing up. What made them special to you?

'My grandpa was the most meaningful person to me growing up, he would do small things that made my day beyond great. For example, taking five minutes to eat breakfast with me or discuss homework. Doing fun activities that turned out to be “ training my brain “ as he would call it. '

Please share one or two memories that you had with that person.

'One of my favorite memories would have to be, my grandpa attending Back To School Night with me. He was previously in the Vietnam War, and he shared pictures, and his uniform with my peers. Another great memory I’ve had with him is on Saturday morning while my parents worked. I would get the news paper and eat butter toast along side of him at the table. He would tell me. “ never let your situation dictate your destination, anything you put your mind to is destined for success “ and it has stuck with me throughout my life. '

How can I help create a supportive and positive work experience for you?

'Communication is key. '
