Applicant's Story

Regarding your work experience, what's most appealing to you?

'The purpose of my work'

When do you know you've done a good job?

'The people I work with tell me'

Why are you a caregiver... or want to become one?

'I have a condition myself which I dont tend to share with people. Because of this condition I felt that my way to give back was to care for others that cant care for themselves anymore. This career path has taught me a lot and showed me a lot. Ive made many friends along the way and hope to keep making new ones. '

Tell me of a time when you were there for someone who really needed you.

'I made a friend at the home I was working in. My co worker and I would always share an ice cream with her at night and watch jeopardy in our down time. When her husband died we always made it a thing to spend a night out with her so she always had something to look forward too. '

Think of the person who was most meaningful to you growing up. What made them special to you?

'My grandma (I know a lot of people probably say that). I watched her change over the years, she got dementia and had to move. She is the reason I do what I do. She teaches me to be patient, gentle and caring. '

Please share one or two memories that you had with that person.

'We always had a special game with each other when we would go out. Find the ugliest outfit whether it was on a rack or person. It was years sonce we played it and we had gone to a restaruant and she pointed to. lady in . magazine and said "that, its the ugliest one yet!" It made me smile to know that she still rememebered our game! '

How can I help create a supportive and positive work experience for you?

'Help me adjust to a new surrounding and meet people. I am a fast learner and have great time managment. I also work best when under pressure, probably my OCD! '
