Applicant's Story

Regarding your work experience, what's most appealing to you?

'The people I work with'

When do you know you've done a good job?

'The people I work with tell me'

Why are you a caregiver... or want to become one?

'I like being able to help others. I got the opportunity to volunteer at a nursing home during my senior year in high school (2013) and I realized that there is a lot I could help in.'

Tell me of a time when you were there for someone who really needed you.

'There was a time when one of my close friends called me at 12:25am. My friend works night shift and needed someone to pick her up from work. She wasn’t feeling well and needed to go to the hospital, her ride wasn’t able to leave work so she called me in hopes I could help her. I picked her up from work and we drove to the hospital. I stayed with her until her sister arrived. I got home around 3:30am and even though I had to be up at 6am to get ready for work I was happy that I wasn’t there for someone I care very much about. '

Think of the person who was most meaningful to you growing up. What made them special to you?

'My mother has been my role model always. She always had the right words at the right moment. Her love and care were unique. '

Please share one or two memories that you had with that person.

'Loosing my brother at a young age was very hard on the family, but even then my mom was always present. For every special event in my life she always seemed happy and made sure that nothing saddened the moment. Even with all that pain in her heart she made sure I had a happy childhood. '

How can I help create a supportive and positive work experience for you?

'I am currently enrolled in CCMA classes. A job that would allow me to work and attend classes will help me obtain my certification. '
