Applicant's Story

Regarding your work experience, what's most appealing to you?

'The changes I can accomplish'

When do you know you've done a good job?

'The people I work with tell me'

Why are you a caregiver... or want to become one?

'Working in a nursing home setting has pushed me to want to take care of elderly people. I want to be able to be help them just like they would help us if we needed the help. It has always been my passion to be a caregiver and help others out because I have a heart and passion for it. '

Tell me of a time when you were there for someone who really needed you.

'I work at a nursing home so I’m basically always there for my residents when they’re down or needing someone to talk to about anything. I’ve had a resident come to me about a lot of specific things in regards to needing me to help them get up or just be a friend or a listening ear. '

Think of the person who was most meaningful to you growing up. What made them special to you?

'I have a lot of residents at the nursing home I work at that mean the world to me. They inspire me to keep pushing on and even when I’m having a bad day at work they will make my day complete. '

Please share one or two memories that you had with that person.

'When I was pregnant and working at the nursing home I’m at. I would always stop by and talk to a resident and she would pray for me and tell me I’m the most beautiful and nicest person she has every meet at the job. The fact that I could make her smile and laugh would brighten up my day. '

How can I help create a supportive and positive work experience for you?

'There’s really not a way to do that I think I make a supportive and positive work environment by myself when I walk in the presence of a job. I’m very ongoing and love caring for others. '
