Applicant's Story

Regarding your work experience, what's most appealing to you?

'The changes I can accomplish'

When do you know you've done a good job?

'I feel it'

Why are you a caregiver... or want to become one?

'I am caring person, capable of having empathy for others and acting upon that, making them feel safe and comfortable. '

Tell me of a time when you were there for someone who really needed you.

'A fellow brother in arms of mine was going through a divorce after returning from a deployment . I was able to be there for him both emotionally and financially. We pulled through the hardest of it as a family, and we are both better people for that. '

Think of the person who was most meaningful to you growing up. What made them special to you?

'My father was the most important. He taught me responsibility, a strong work ethic and how important it is to not look down on others and to care for them. '

Please share one or two memories that you had with that person.

'(1) As a young boy, my dad always took me along with him when he worked his side job of mowing lawns to help pay the bills, on top of the two jobs he already worked. It taught me how important it is to work hard and not complain about something.

(2) As a grandfather to my sister’s children, he was always there to help with care and financial needs of all of his family, especially his grandchildren, who were in the most need. '

How can I help create a supportive and positive work experience for you?

'You can create this type of experience by being there as a mentor and a source of motivation by being both a leader and an example of what kind of employee you would like me to be. '
