Applicant's Story

Regarding your work experience, what's most appealing to you?

'The purpose of my work'

When do you know you've done a good job?

'I feel it'

Why are you a caregiver... or want to become one?

'Because I'm compassionate, I want to treat patients how I would want to be treated if I was in their condition. No matter what someone's condition is, you can always make them feel good by providing an excellent service.'

Tell me of a time when you were there for someone who really needed you.

'well, I remember working at a fast food restaurant (KFC) and I had to train this new cook, and one time on my day off he called me up and asked me for help even though he had another trainer there to help him, he made it obvious that he counted on me. I told him that I would be right there to help him. I got there in ten minutes to help him with whatever he needed.
He really appreciated that gesture of mine, I know this because he kept repeating it to me once in a while.
'

Think of the person who was most meaningful to you growing up. What made them special to you?

'The person who was most significant to me growing up was my father. he really taught me a lot. from teaching me how to tie my shoes as a kid to informing me on what was going around me as a teenager to being the man that I am today. '

Please share one or two memories that you had with that person.

'I can remember when my mother was sick and admitted to the hospital, my father took my brothers and me to see her. then, I remember she kept hugging us and asking us questions. (such as "what do you want to be when you grow up"). I remember she would feel sad one moment and other times she would smile and joke around with us.
then, I remember she said something that really sticks with me to this day. she said, "I do not worry you'll grow up to be great men, because you are in the hands of the best man", and we all looked at my father. HE CRIED. I've never seen my father cry before. that was memorable!'

How can I help create a supportive and positive work experience for you?

'By providing the staff with excellent training and equipment.
